Spring is in the air and summer is on its way! It’s time to start thinking about how you’re going to get your kids away from their screens and into some sunshine and fresh air.
The problem is that kids are so used to their screens, that they might not want to leave them. How do you get them to step away? Get summer gifts for kids!
Kids think things are more exciting when they’re new. Get some must-have summer toys and your kids will be so excited to play with them, they’ll gladly step away from their technology to run around outside.
Read below for some ideas for toys to get your kids this summer.
1. Sports
Get your kids excited about playing sports, and they’ll have to get outside!
Buy them new soccer balls, footballs, baseballs – basically anything they can kick or throw around! Consider bats and kid-friendly golf sets as well. If they have to get outside to use them, it’s a win.
If you like this idea, think about getting them a bike too. If they’re going to need to get around for all their sporting activities, it might be better if they can do it themselves.

2. Games
Kids love games, so give them some new ones! If it’s something they can play with their siblings or friends, even better! This way they will be excited about getting outside so they can play.
For low-activity games that are still outside, you can get things like sidewalk chalk, or beanbag or ring toss sets. If you really want them running around, look at water balloon packs, scavenger hunts, or child-friendly archery and dart sets.
3. Pretend Tools
One of the biggest parts of playing is mimicking what adults do. Help your kids out! Give them toys that look like tools you would use outside, and they’ll do the rest.
Toys that look like gardening or construction tools are a great example of this. Also look at push toys that look like lawn mowers, or toy cars they can drive around in.
4. Educational Toys
Kids love learning! Give them toys that will help them do this.
For younger children, outdoor sensory pits or mud kitchens are great educational toys. For older children, encourage their interests! Get your kids an outdoor experiment kit, a child-friendly telescope or binoculars, or archeology and geology sand kits.
5. Toys For After Dark
If it glows in the dark, your kids will love it. Kids think everything is more exciting after dark. With these toys, they’ll be able to run around in the dark, getting around with the help of their toys.
Look at getting some glow in the dark beacons to leave around your garden. If that doesn’t work, glow sticks and torches will be great too.
Getting Summer Gifts For Kids
To get your kids off their screens and into the sunshine, summer gifts for kids are the way to go! They’ll be so focused on having a good time, they won’t even realize they haven’t looked at their iPad yet.
